OUR TIMELINE

FROM IDEA TO IMPLEMENTATION

Chandler Park Healthy Neighborhood Strategy will implement the first phase of our health programming between June 2016 and June 2017. We will use this initial period to pilot our program and create the foundation needed to meet our longterm goals. BUILD Health Club will run on seasonal schedule, separated by corresponding quarters. At the end of each quarter, participants progress will be evaluated.

summer 2016

During June, July and August of 2016 we will begin our community outreach - using our Resident Corps to canvass neighborhoods sharing information about BUILD Health Club, providing information on additional health resources, and recruiting participants for the program. During Summer 2016 we will also begin direct outreach with 48213 youth through our fun, fitness program Chandler Park Ninja Warriors.

Fall 2016

We will formally begin BUILD Health Club in the fall - holding our first registration and screening sessions in September 2016. September, October and November will consist of introductory programs, workshops and classes to focused on teaching our participants the skills they will need to continue building their health. The majority of our programming will be held outdoors at Chandler Park, with indoor programs at Samaritan Center when necessary.

Winter 2016/2017

During December 2016, January 2017 and February 2017 - we will move the majority of our programming indoors. Workshops and classes will continue to build participant knowledge, skills, and capabilities. We will also have some outdoor 'winter' themed activities such as sledding, ice skating, igloo building and Winter Olympics. Rolling registration and health screenings will also occur at this time.

Spring 2017

During March, April, and May 2017 - the majority of programming will be moved back outdoors with some indoor programming when necessary. Rolling registration and screenings will continue. Spring clean-up and other beautification activities will be included in the program - creating a relationship between community development and resident health.

Summer 2017

During June, July, and August 2017 - we will continue our outdoor programming, expanding it to include summer fairs, festivals, and group recreational/social events. Rolling registration and health screenings will continue.
